The Malediction of a Nerd

I know that I usually use my blog for funny posts, but today is the time for serious thoughts. My roommates are not at home, I need to talk and think over my being a nerd; so if you don't mind, I'm going to use my blog! ( ...and if you mind, I don't really care! :) ).

As a person with scientific background I don't believe in things like astrology and actually horoscopes; but when I heard that the 2008 will be the year of the Capricorns (my sign), I started to believe the 2008 could be a great year. But after 20 days I can say that it was just an 'illusion'... nothing more!

I was a nerd the previous year, I continue to be a nerd today and I will be a nerd forever. Being a nerd is not something you can choose; you born as a nerd and even if you try to change... some day you'll find out you are still a nerd; and the malediction is still over you!

Maybe are you asking... "what malediction are you talking about?"; the malediction is, of course, about 'dating girls'. Take a look to the mirror, we are not handsome! The only weapons we can use to conquer the heart of a girl are our pleasantness and... our irony and... for those who have a lot of money a nice car can also help (but that' not my case!) :) "Irony" is about finding the right word to say in the right moment, and, trust me, it could be very difficult. Especially when you are in front of the "nicest girl you ever met in your life" and you realize that a second date only depends about what you are going to say. You look deep into her green&brown eyes and suddenly you get lost! You DO want to keep lost because it is a nice feeling, but you have to say something, your brain is completely empty, you are trying to figure out what's your name... and... what's the result? You surely say something obvious and of course stupid! :( And this is the reason why there will be no second date! :( I know this kind of situation is common in several movies about nerds... but unfortunately life is not a movie, at the end there will be no a second change... and 'bad' guys always win. However, things goes better when you meet a girl you don't like. You don't care about what you say, and the result is a second, third... forth date and maybe a relationship. So, that's the malediction explained... "a nerd cannot stay with the girl he really likes".

Maybe I'm too much sentimental today, but yesterday I have met someone very special and after a while I have realized that, as the Vasco Rossi's song "Senza Parole" says:

And I'm not going to translate in English for you, Vasco cannot be translated in English... it would be like a blasphemy. As I'm leaning English in order to share my opinions with you guys... it's the time you start to learn Italian in order to understand what I'm saying! :) And remember if today English is the main world language is just because Cristoforo Colombo (which is Italian) was wrong. :)
