I have translated the italian one into the english one... but I think the italian one is more funny (I guess because english is not a funny language... just consider the english humor... sigh! ) :)
Buona Pasqua! Greeting from Collierville, Tennessee (Near Memphis, TN)
In the early 80's I was in Palermo and tried to be friendly with an elderly gentleman in a small Protestant Church saying: "Buona Pasqua" as I shook his hand. He went nuts rattling off Italian in an angry tone.
What did I say wrong? I have always wondered. Why this attitude about Christ's wonderful resurection in a church?
I really can't imagine what you said wrong. Maybe your Italian pronunciation was wrong or I guess Protestant's fellowers have a different way to celebrate Easter. I can't help you to solve this mystery in your life! Maybe that Italian guy was in a very bad day... and it was simply angry with the entire world! So don't think about that episode!
