About the Austrian flag origins

Today, my Austrian colleagues, told me the story behind the Austrian flag... and I have to admit which is a very nice story.

According to legend, the flag was invented by Duke Leopold V of Austria (1157–1194) as a consequence of his fighting during the Crusades. After a fierce battle, his white battle dress was completely drenched in blood. When he removed his belt, the cloth underneath was untouched by it, revealing the combination of red-white-red. So taken was he by this singular sight that he adopted the colors and scheme as his banner.
I don't know if it is real... or just a legend, anyway this is very nice. An empire build up starting from a battle dress drenched in blood... that's really "pulp"! :) Really "Conan the Barbarian" (you know the movie of Arnold Schwarzenegger? ...but wait a minute, actually Arnold Schwarzenegger is Austrian)... oh my god, I really love this country!

And furthermore, I want also to mention the fact that actually there are no communists here! :P Am I mentioned that I love this country? :)
