Your kids are now safe!

Mums and dads all over the world...
you can now relax. Send your kids playing outside because there is no more reason to keep them in the house under your surveillance. Yes, no more worries... Michael Jackson is finally dead! Thanks God!

Missing link found!

If you are wondering why the Google logo is so strange today...

I will explain that! A 47-million-year-old fossil has been found in Germany by a group of Norwegian researcher and it's a remarkable discovery as it could be the link that connects human skeletal structure to early mammals (it even has an opposable thumb, isn't it great?).

The fossil, called 'IDA', could be the prove to Darwin theory and all the scientific world is fermenting because of that, and Googlers too :) ( that's the reason of the logo )

Concerned

Yes, concerned guys! Really concerns about this world... that will never going to change. I expected in the year 2009, the entire world to get rid most of the bullshits which signed one of the darkest ages in our entire history, the medieval, but Religion is still affecting our lives so far.

People still dies for their believes, I mean I also would be happy to die fighting for my God if someone promises me that once I kill some infidels there will be 72 virgins in heaven waiting for me. Don't you? But how can someone be so retarded to actually believe that!?!? But the thing that makes me think lately is that something I have been always given for granted, "the evolution theory" of Darwin, something I learned at primary school for God's sake... and the only reasonable theory which explain life on earth without involving extra terrestrial buddies... or super-fucking-power-omnipresent Gods... is addressed as "bullshits" by lots of people (and let's say too many for my opinion).

Of course people can start saying... Darwin's theory has not been proven; of course scientists are still working on it... the latest research about Darwin's theory involves the construction of the "Tree of Life" which shows (like in the family hierarchy tree) all the relations between species. This study is classifying the DNA of all the known species in order to find similarities, branches etc... 150 years ago when Darwin formulates his theory there where no knowledge of DNA and the evolution theory can be proven only by observing species in a very wide time-frame (hundreds of years)... or by studying the DNA and that's what scientist are doing now.

Of course science is a science :) (and I am me, you are you of course :P), it's not about writing a god novel... where you can invent stuff from scratch! Science requires experiments... guess a theory and prove it. Now some of the latest discoveries are miss proving Darwin, but not in a way that makes the overall evolution theory wrong. From this link :
Dr Bapteste said: "The tree of life was useful. It helped us to understand evolution was real. But now we know more about evolution it's time to move on."
Anyway, I don't want to discuss here if you should believe in the evolution or not... my concern is: "Is there something alternative?" Do you really believe there is a God that is capable of creating and destroying everything... but then practically he worked 7 days and since than... nothing more? Does it make any sense to send your only child to the earth... make people torture him, kill him in the cross... just to forgive our sins? God, if the plan was.. "to forgive our sins..." just do it! Why do you need special effects? You have the power... do it! But I guess is difficult to have people be afraid of you and love you at the same time, right? Btw... Is this the alternative way to the evolution theory?

Of course use God to explain something is very convenient. God is like a jolly. When you cannot explain something... just use it! It works just fine, let me present some examples:

"Ah... I really cannot explain while today is so windy... fuck... But yes of course, yesterday I sinned, so now the God of the wind (Eolo) is angry at me. Fuck... I should better go and make him forgive me!" Simple no? Dispete the fact... today, thanks to science (ehm..), we have mathematical models which are able to predict the weather pretty well... what does it mean? Is God predictable? What kind of superior intelligience is predictable?

"Why this dude died? It cannot be true... yes of course, he is dead probably because there is a God that likes him so much and he wants him to sit next to him! Yes of course, ...if God likes you, he is going to take you in this wonderful place (nobody has ever seen, but should be nice because he is God...) where you can enjoy your afterlife! So, to make sure we are going to that place you have to suffer in this life." Ehm... should I argue this? ..to simple :)

I really can continue writing... but I think I did my point. Of course I know you cannot argue with religious people because they will start saying "You have to have faith!". And science is not abaout fath! I have heard in a couple of documentaries that everytime a science ask to a group of religious people: "According to the bible, the earth is 5000 years old! So what about dinosaur fossils?" and people answer: "God put dinosaur fossils here to test our faith!"...seriously guys, ' THE FUCK!

...but you know what the truth is? actually I don't give a shit... apparently war is in our nature, no matter which kind of excuse we actually use to justify a war, there will always be someone fighting for something. I am not saying they should... I am just realistic, some people get really hard with wars (most of the reasons are connected to the economics... but you should watch zeitgeist to understed in which way)! But most of the time what you see is a bounce of very determined people with very clear ideas guiding thousands of confused people which don't really know what they are fighting for.

I know it's difficult to stand up and start thinking with their own mind instead of let other people think for you (which is really easier), but if we really want a better future we should definitely start thinking by ourself!

Deal of the Year!

There is no better way to start the year with a nice deal! :)

So.. you know being a nerd also means getting very horny for any new piece of hardware :) ...and of course you always want the latest stuff available because it makes u really cool and awesome! :) As my laptop was getting old... in January I realised that my 4 years old Thinkpad laptop needed a refresh! So I start to make some research, and I found the laptop that fit all my needs: Dell Latitude E6400!

So, I guess at this point your question would be... as my old laptop is a Thinkpad... why should I go for a Dell? So, the choice was between Thinkpad T400 and Dell Latitude E6400. Both are professional laptop with 3 years warranty (on-site)... top-specs... thinkpad use DDR3... the Dell DDR2 (that's a plus for the Thinkpad of course) but the Dell system wins in terms of multimedia connections as far as it has a DisplayPort output, eSATA and Fireware.

Let's say the 2 systems are comparable... but when it comes to the price, of course Dell is more cheap. And I get more lucky because I bought my Dell as a refurbished unit on eBay... that means for half the price you get a very cool system.

So, to make it short, for about 1100 € I got the following:
  • Intel Core Duo T9600 (2.8 Ghz, 6 MB cache)
  • 4 GB RAM DDR2
  • 250 GB Hart Disk (7200 RPM) Free Fall Sensor
  • NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M
  • DISPLAY 1440x900 LED + webcam
  • Intel Wifi Link 5300 + Bluetooth
  • DVD R/W
  • 9 Cells Battery
  • 3 YEARS On-Site warranty
Consider that the same system, new costs around 2100 € today! :)

The only problem of the laptop was the colour... BLUE... I was not crazy about that... but considering the price... and what inside... I purchased it!

When the laptop arrived... it was perfect! Everything worked flawlessly... fast... cool.. like a dream, I was going to write how happy I was on my blog when a problem raised! :(

Actually a very strange and annoying problem that maybe most of the people would not notice; the laptop simply drained the battery when turned off. I called the Dell support and they firstly replace my battery (to see if the problem comes from the battery)... secondly (because the battery replacement didn't solve my problem) sent a technician to me to change my mother board! Unfortunately, also the new motherboard did not solve the problem and the support picked up my laptop to test and solve the issue in the laboratory.

So far so good, when the system came back from the laboratory was completely messed up, this people detect that the problem was caused by the Hard Drive... so they replace the drive and install Windows Vista 32-bit in German (of course the original system had Windows 64-bits in English). This made me pissed off... and the day after I called again the Dell support complaining of the kind of support they were giving to me. Of course the hard drive replacement didn't solve the problem... the laptop was still draining the battery when turned off. Anyway after the discussion they told me that since my laptop seems to be really not working it will be replaced with a new one! Actually they really built a new system from the scratch with all the stuff I wanted! I get rid of the BLUE color of course... and I switch the keyboard layout from UK to US. Unfortunately during this process I lost some stuff like the finger-print reader and the black-lit keyboard :( (which are nice features if you are a pussy... but really not useful for a nerd).
Anyway... after few weeks (and actually after one and half month) from the purchase date... my new Dell Latitude E6400 (paid half of the price) arrives.

The laptop is amazing! The LED display is gorgeous... the eSATA port connected to my external 1.5 TB Seagate Barracuda hard drive gives me a amazing read/write speed.
Yes... it's good to be nerd! :)

Anyway.. now the question is what to do with my old and loyal Thinkpad T43?! It has been a brave laptop, now it is spending his life as file server... I should give it for adoption... anyone wants it? :)

Wien (8 December 08)

Argh!! usually my posts follow a temporal order... but I did have no time to put this picture about Wien (or Vienne or whatever) I have taken in December.

I went to Wien (which is actually the correct German name of the city) a couple of days just to see how it looks like... and here u are some picture from Wien!

Ok, let's start saying that unfortunately the weather was bad... it was raining all the time and rains -> pour light -> shitty picture with my Canon Powershot A570IS (which actually - after 2 years I've bought - is still one of the best compact camera in the market). Anyway... let's begin!
in the bottom of this palace (which should be the parlament... or rathaus) there is the madness of the "kristkindel markets" (cristmas markets)... and I have already spent several words about them... so let's move on to the next picture! :)
this square was quite impressive (because of the statue, of course) and actually there were 2 statues of men on horses... and that makes it awesome! :)
and here it is Mozart! Actually the man was really short... u want some lingerie? You'll better no... because this stuff look like crap! I mean the idea of devil's horns is nice... but let's talk about the rest... is that sexy? My peanus is saying... "NO WAY!" ...and if he says so... I believe that!
and here it is the Albertina museum where a Van Gogh's painting exposition was held (and I visited it... but there where none of the wellknown masterpieces... :( ) This palace was cool... I really don't know the meaning of that... but I do love the Greek/Roman style of building stuff! :)
and I think the guy that lives in that house should be quite rich! :) ahauha... of course i am joking they were just doing some kind of restoration! This very nice statue depicts (in a very simple way) how Germans deal with foreigners! :) auhauh (of course the German one is the one with the bird... the foreigner is the naked one)that's the concept of Austrian girls! U like that... eh? :P
and that's Opera! I don't if this one was real.. or not, but few meters from this a police van... was waiting for something or someone! Ehm... I should better go!One of the attraction of Wien... a panoramic wheel! Cool... but way way expensive! Ok, Wien is nice... not so impressive but worth visiting it! But please don't go there during the Cristmas time because the city is full of Italians which will piss u off in a few hours! Yeah... you know how italians are... just retards! They get lost like children... every 5 minuts you will hear someone screaming looking for someone else (in italian of course). They don't speak any language beside Italian... and they get angry when people can't understand what they are saying! ...but what can we do? :)

Beside Italians the smell around the city is bad! The city smells like shit! Actually horse shit! That's because there are horses everywhere that take tourists around the city! I am not saying there is shit on the street... apparentely Austrians are smart enough to figure out a mechanism to collect horses' shit and avoid shit in the street, unfortunately the mechanism is not smell-proof!

So, now if you ask me... do you prefer to live in a city where there is trash everywhere and another one that smells like shit... make a choice will be rather difficult! :) But.. let's see the nice aspect... if you wanna poo in the street nobody will complain! :P

Just relaxing!

Maybe you were wondering... wtf is doing motonacciu? It has been a long time since the last post... you are right! I was busy preparing exams for my PhD.

But now... as you can see I am just relaxing... enjoying my brand new Dell (with one small existential problem :( ) blue laptop!

I will tell the whole story about the laptop in a few days... it would take too much time now... and today is relax day! :)

Anyway happy 2009... and if you are Chinese... happy Ox years which has been started few days ago!

...and it's again X-mass!

Again Christmas, fuck!
If there is something I hate the most... well it is X-mas. The snow, the communist red color everywhere, shops full of retards buying stuff that don't even need, and retards trying to sell you things you don't need.... and every time the question that comes to my mind is... why the fuck are we doing that? The answer should be... "because someone got pregnant without having sex!" Ok, I see... but where is the connection?

Actually I don't see any connection! Millions of WATT consumed to put decoration lights in the streets 24x7 on -- global warming is not anymore an issue during x-mas. But people don't care... are so used to the x-mas that they do not even know why are doing that... we live in an era where people are just to lazy to actually think about their actions! Just do that... because other people are doing that... and so forth!!

However, here in Austria the retardness seems to affect just a few. Of course here they have this Christkindl markets (Christmas markets), which is the worse of the worse ever in terms of Christmas atmosphere...(from my point of view) but if you look deep inside you can see that Austrians go there just to eat and during some gluehwein...(which make sense) the real retards that go there to buy these crappy-wood-made stuff are actually Italians. And the nice things is that Austrians make fun of Italians... I mean, of course they do! And they really loves us... for example look at this picture made in a shop here:

SHUHE == SCARPE == SHOES and it seems they have a different cost for Italian speaking people. And the same for FLASCHE == BOTTIGLIA == BOTTLE.

So, italian people come to Innsbruck to buy X-mas stuff... because they all do love you, and they are looking forward to seeing you! They do love italians... really! :) Dress and act as the mid-average-italian-christkindl-market-customer-with-retard-family and you will be welcome! :)
